Choosing a chair The longer you sit, the more adjustable your chair needs to be in order to let you relax and change working positions easily. Back support Choose a chair with a backrest that can be adjusted both for height and tilt. This supports your back and spine. Avoid strains Choose rocker action and forward/backward seat adjustment to make it easy to move and avoid strained muscles. Freedom of movement Angles of the seat and backrest should be more independently adjustable to allow more freedom of movement. Ease tension Easy and quick height and sideways armrest adjustment supports you and helps you avoid neck and shoulder tension and aching wrists. Sit straight A gas-lift mechanism easily adjusts the height of the seat so you can sit ‘ergonomically’, with your feet flat on the floor and your knees slightly lower than your thighs. Leg support Adjustable seat depth and extra cushioning support your leg muscles which is especially important when you sit for long periods of time. Breathe easy A seat that can be angled to give a more “open” working position reduces pressure on your thighs, relaxes your back and helps you breathe easier |
