Plan your workstation
Your workstation has to work for you and what you do. The more you spend time there, the more important it is.

What is your main task?
What is your main workstation? Do you have a desk, or do you use your checkout counter for paying bills and placing order? Think about the kind of work you’ll be performing here. If it involves a computer, consider an ergonomically rounded desktop.

A desk with depth supports your wrists and arms, accommodates keyboard and mouse and allows you to place the monitor at arms lengths from your eyes. An adjustable desk enables you to work a height that suits your body. You need room to turn 90 degrees either way and stretch your legs. A rounded desktop invites to have a chat or quick meeting right at your desk. A side table extends your worktop and keeps the main desk free from clutter. It’s also perfect for your printer, fax, etc.

Get your light right
Good lighting makes working easier and more comfortable.

Choose the right chair
Invest in a chair today and your body will thank you tomorrow.

Storage
Keep things you use frequently close at hand. For instance in a drawer unit or a shelf nearby. Even a location that makesyou get up and take few steps is beneficial - it encourages blood circulation.

Buddy system
Space allocation and furnishings will be different if you are working alone and if you are working with a team, partner or even your child.
