Updates on the NEW IKEA Alexandra

Renovations at IKEA Alexandra are completed for you! Besides new ideas and inspiration, we are welcoming you with a more spacious showroom, larger markethall, bigger restaurant and a completely new play area!

The new Småland play facility
The Children’s Ballroom that has made many a child smile is now replaced by Småland, a play area of 176sqm (one and a half times bigger!) with a maximum capacity of 80 children, allowing many more children to participate in fun time.

Småland offers a convenient and pleasant shopping experience for families with children, allowing parents to shop while their children have a ball of a time.

It is a magical Swedish forest with clogs so huge, you can hide inside them, and berries so big, you can hardly hold one in your hand. It is a forest perfect for jumping, climbing, running and bouncing.

But it’s also a silent and calm forest where you can watch a movie or read a book or just rest under an enormous spruce tree. Whatever your choice, it is a big adventure for the many small people!

The new IKEA Restaurant

Have breakfast, lunch and dinner with us! We have expanded the capacity of the IKEA Restaurant by almost 30%. With its increase in seating capacity, the new restaurant can now accommodate more diners to enjoy the all-time yummy delights. And while the adults eat, the kids can have fun in the new play island in the restaurant.

IKEA supports Women Enterprise Workz

Women Enterprise Workz – the co-operative for women

Women Enterprise Workz (WEworkz) was launched in March 2008, facilitated by the South West Community Development Council (CDC). The aim of WEworkz is to encourage and empower Singaporean women, especially the more vulnerable, who are unable to commit to full-time employment due to their family priorities or circumstances, to engage in home-based economic activities. The Co-operative provides training and business opportunities that fit the members’ personal skills and interests.

For more information on how you can join as volunteers/trainers or for the placing of corporate orders for WEworkz’s products, please contact WEworkz at enquiry@weworkz.sg, Tel: 6551 9299 or visit the website at www.weworkz.sg

Partners of WEworkz include IKEA Singapore - the official venue sponsor for the launch event. IKEA Tampines will also be providing retail space for the women of WEworkz to sell their products such as candles and jewellery. "IKEA believes that Home is the most important place in the world and also a great place to work from. We believe projects like WEworkz Co-operative go hand-in-hand with the IKEA vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people" said Tom Huzell, Managing Director of IKANO Pte Ltd (IKEA Singapore).

The ladies from WEworkz will be at IKEA Tampines, level 2, on every weekend to sell their handmade products. Operating hours will be from 11am – 8pm.
